House Of Blues Gospel Brunch Chicago Concert reviews
Muffled Sound and ZZ has Topped Out!
The House Of Blues Gospel Brunch concert was a total disappointment, as the band showed a complete lack of interest. It's a shame, considering it was my first time seeing them live. I didn't expect them to sound like they did in 1975, but they were just awful.
The drummer, Frank Beard, seemed eager to leave, appearing to simply endure the performance. Dusty barely sang, and his bass playing produced only muffled noise, as he fidgeted with his beard.
Billy Gibbons attempted to hold the show together, but his voice was worn out, gravelly. While he managed some decent guitar licks, the overall sound was terrible and the vocals incomprehensible. These 68-year-olds are still attempting to perform five shows a week, but it's clearly not working out. They essentially phoned in this performance. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met, guys.
